The OctoberNomicon Is Opening Once Again

October approaches, and something is scratching at the margins of the manuscript.

For more than twenty years, Shoggoth.net’s OctoberNomicon has spent the Halloween season filling the world with things that ought not exist: monsters drawn from folklore and urban legend, forgotten horrors recovered from weird fiction, original creatures dragged screaming from the imaginations of our contributors—and stories documenting what happened when somebody encountered them.

Now we need your help to open it again.

Friends, weirdos, creeps & acquaintances; it is that solemn time again; time for Octobernomicon to kick off. We are asking for submissions:

  • Bestiary write ups!
    Have an awesome monster or NPC idea that will curl our hair? Got it from folk lore? Inspired by Pulp Culture? LSD Flashbacks hitting a little too hard? Write it up now! Gaming system does not matter, all sorts are welcomed here!
  • Cursed Items!
    Have a horrible fetish (not that kind), bauble or artifact rumbling around in that spider addled brain of yours? Now’s your chance to share it with the world; misery loves company after all!
  • Blasphemous Rituals!
    It’s just a jump to the left… pick up your pen and wriiiiiiiite
  • Unseemly places!
    Haunted houses, cursed counties, forbidden coves, squalid lakes, the list goes on and so should you!

As always; artists get special mention! By volunteering to be an artist for Octobernomicon you get access to the list of what will be terrorizing people before anyone else!

Every year on Shoggoth.net we do a whole month, that’s 31 days, of abominations and disturbances! At least one new affront to sensibility every day! We need you!! We need writers! We need artists! We need you! What system? Dealers choice! Call of Cthulhu, Cthulhu Eternal, 5th Edition, we’re ambivalent.
